ゲートタワービルについてJana先生が教えてくれました。
Japan is known for its modernized technology that makes their country rich and popular. However, there is more fun things await us to be discovered. Today I am going to introduce you the Gate Tower Building in Osaka in the heart of Kansai region in Japan. This is not an ordinary building because an express highway is passing right through the building. It sounds so strange yet, it really does exist. It has 16 floors which are conveniently occupied with their tenants, except the 5th, 6th, and 7th floors which are engaged by the Hanshin Expressway. You can’t land there since the elevator hops from the 4th floor straight to the 8th floor. There is an interesting story behind this building. During the Meiji period this place has owned by a corporation of wood and coal however, it was deteriorated because fuel became the big source of energy. In 1983 the area was developed, but the property right’s holder refused to give up the land. The negotiation lasted for five years and they came up with this solution. Despite of having the expressway going through this building, it is business as usual. People here can still work comfortably without any noise and vibration as the highway has no direct contact with the building. I have noticed that Japanese are very resourceful. They tend to make things happen in the most positive and unique way. I Hope this gives you inspiration to find great solutions to your problems. Thank you very much, and see you in my class.
