皆さんは浴衣と着物の違いをご存知でしょうか?浴衣はもともと湯上りに着ていたもので綿で作られています。着物は服として使われていたもので絹で作られています。浴衣は夏の夕涼みのお散歩がてらに着て出かけるようになってからどんどん現代ではカジュアルな着物として位置づけられお祭りや花火大会などで一日中、外出着として着られるようになりました |
Do you know the difference between a Yukata and a Kimono? Yukata is a simple garment made of cotton fabric and originally used after taking a bath as a bathrobe. Yukata is worn during the summer season or while having a walk during a cool evening, then gradually it became a casual wear. Nowadays Yukata can be worn whole day long, at the festivals or while watching firework displays. While Kimono is a traditional garment made of silk, expensive and considered to be a glamorous dress. Kimono is often worn during very special or very formal occasions. |
Many people are mistaking that Yukata and Kimono are the same. They are both beautiful and knowing their origin will make you appriciate one’s uniqueness from the other. Also, knowing their differences will help you when, where and how the proper way to wear and style them.
