| Do you know the difference between a Yukata and a Kimono? Yukata is a simple garment made of cotton fabric and originally used after taking a bath as a bathrobe. Yukata is worn during the summer season or while having a walk during a cool evening, then gradually it became a casual wear. Nowadays Yukata can be worn whole day long, at the festivals or while watching firework displays. While Kimono is a traditional garment made of silk, expensive and considered to be a glamorous dress. Kimono is often worn during very special or very formal occasions. |
Many people are mistaking that Yukata and Kimono are the same. They are both beautiful and knowing their origin will make you appriciate one’s uniqueness from the other. Also, knowing their differences will help you when, where and how the proper way to wear and style them.
